Start on the right side.
A short checklist for a clearer fencing conversation. No technical drawings needed.
01 / Agree the boundary
Check the boundary position and responsibility before work is arranged. Speak with your neighbour where appropriate. If either is uncertain, resolve it before deciding where a fence should go.
02 / Check restrictions
Don’t assume every height or position is permitted. Check relevant planning rules and any property restrictions with the appropriate authority or adviser before committing.
03 / Think about access
Is there a side passage? Are there steps or narrow turns? Note how materials and removed fencing would reach the garden.
04 / Describe the ground
Mention slopes, nearby trees, walls and known buried services. An approximate measurement is useful for an initial conversation, not a final installation plan.
05 / Pick your priority
Privacy, a new look, easier access or a damaged section? Say what matters most, and what you would like to keep.

Let’s shape your boundary.
